What does the Bible mean when it says, "the meek shall inherit the earth"?

 When the Bible says "the meek shall inherit the earth," it's from Matthew 5:5 in the New Testament, part of the Sermon on the Mount , where Jesus says: "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." (Matthew 5:5, KJV) So what does it mean? "Meek" in the biblical context doesn’t mean weak or passive. Instead, it refers to those who are: Humble , not arrogant or self-important Gentle , not harsh or aggressive Patient , not quick to anger Self-controlled , especially under pressure The idea is that God values inner strength, humility, and trust in Him over dominance or power . Those who live humbly and righteously—without trying to control or overpower others—are the ones who will ultimately be rewarded. "Inherit the earth"—what does that mean?   Jesus loves all the children of the world — not just the straight ones. Jesus loves trans people, too. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I’m grateful to see progress, like the Mormon Church moving toward greater inclusion for all people. After all, didn’t Jesus say, “Judge not, lest ye be judged”? I once had a friend tell me, “Love the sinner, hate the sin.” Honestly, that felt more like judgment than love. Who are we to claim the role of the ultimate judge? We all have our own flaws to work on. Let’s focus less on condemning others and more on growing in compassion and kindness. Peace and love, Evan
